Ocean Spray's CEO, Randy Papadelis, announced on September 15th that Superior Controls has won the prestigious Supplier of the Year award for capital equipment. The award, presented to the vendor that most contributes to Ocean Spray's corporate economic goals, was read by Mr. Papadelis and was accepted by Superior Controls' President, Rick Pierro, at a formal vendor banquet.

Ocean Spray, a $1.6 billion international company based in Middleboro, Massachusetts, is the world leader in providing cranberry-based juices and fruit. Superior Controls is implementing automation and information systems for Ocean Spray facilities in Middleboro and Carver Massachusetts, Babcock, Markham, and Seattle, Washington; Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; Chadsworth, New Jersey and Langley, British Columbia.

The Supplier of the Year Award in Ocean Spray's own words describes our contribution:

"Superior Controls engineers, design and implement the complex control and factory automation systems that we use at many of our processing facilities.

Superior Controls has been providing expert technical services to Ocean Spray since late 1998.

Superior Controls' first major projects were in the Middleboro concentrator plant in 1998 and 1999.

Most recently, Superior Controls has provided technical services for the new evaporator plant at Markham (WA); the new SDC manufacturing process at Middleboro (MA);the new concentrate plant at Wisconsin Rapids (WI); which started up ahead of schedule earlier this week (September 12th); and the on-going expansion of the SDC process in Middleboro (MA), scheduled for start up in spring of 2006.

Superior Controls provides excellent technical resources; timely completion of projects; outstanding control system development and integration services. They are available 7-days a week / 24 hours a day to help keep Ocean Spray facilities up and running after project implementation.
